Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices using a rigorous three-way matching system, accurately coding to General Ledger accounts while swiftly resolving any discrepancies to maintain payment integrity.
• Conduct thorough analysis of freight invoices to identify overcharges, reconciling claims with carriers to recover funds and optimize costs.
• Review and validate weekly billing reports directly from carrier portals, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
• Efficiently manage billing and payment processing, upholding precise records for audit readiness.
• Maintain and update customer accounts, proactively reactivating inactive ones to boost revenue opportunities.
• Apply customer payments accurately and drive collections efforts to minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and outstanding balances.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations, verifying financial records align perfectly with bank statements.
• Assist in special projects, providing ad-hoc financial support to cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

To excel as an Accounting Associate with our client, you should bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with strong AP/AR focus.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems; Excel expertise for data analysis is a must.
• Demonstrated skills in three-way matching, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and collections.
