Key Responsibilities

This includes designing and implementing a robust reconciliation operating model that effectively manages both onsite teams and outsourced resources. A key focus will be driving automation initiatives leveraging BlackLine and other cutting-edge technologies to streamline workflows and reduce manual errors.

• Oversee timely, accurate, and consistent reconciliations, meticulously tracking reconciling items through aging reports, reserves, and policy-compliant write-offs.
• Manage the monthly Reconciliations Checklist, ensuring comprehensive documentation and multi-level approvals.
• Develop sophisticated performance metrics and reporting dashboards to monitor reconciliation health and identify improvement areas.
• Perform hands-on reconciliations and reviews when necessary, upholding Balance Sheet Reconciliation Standards and maintaining detailed process flow documentation.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships with Accounting, Operations, Core Systems, and Enterprise Data teams to resolve complex issues and fortify processes.
• Serve as a key communicator with senior management, external auditors, regulatory committees, and bodies, delivering clear insights and updates.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, proactively innovating reconciliation practices to support the Credit Union's growth objectives.

Required Qualifications

To excel as our Accounting Manager – Reconciliations, candidates must bring a proven track record in financial reconciliations within financial services, ideally credit unions or similar institutions. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required, complemented by 5+ years of progressive experience in general ledger management and reconciliations.
