Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed AP team comprising domestic and international members. Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear goals, providing coaching, and promoting professional growth in a remote setting.
Manage end-to-end AP processes, including high-volume invoice handling of approximately 600 invoices per day. Ensure accuracy in review, coding to appropriate GL accounts, approvals, and timely payments to maintain strong vendor relationships and cash flow optimization.
Own all AP-related month-end close activities, reconciling accounts, resolving discrepancies, and delivering accurate financial data to support timely reporting for the real estate portfolio.
Identify bottlenecks and drive process enhancements, leveraging Yardi software and advanced Excel tools for data analysis, workflow automation, and performance metrics. Collaborate on system implementations to support the firm's growth trajectory.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders in procurement, accounting, property management, and operations, as well as external vendors, to streamline operations and resolve complex issues efficiently.
To excel in this Accounting Manager role, candidates should bring proven expertise in AP leadership within real estate or similar high-volume environments. Key qualifications include 5-8 years of progressive AP experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity managing remote teams. Proficiency in Yardi Voyager is essential, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data manipulation, pivot tables, and forecasting. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA or similar certification is a plus.
