This high-impact position offers full ownership of a high-volume AP operation in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. If you thrive on leading teams, optimizing processes, and scaling accounting functions, this role at our client's innovative platform could be your next career milestone.

About the Role

As the Accounts Payable Manager, you'll spearhead the AP function for a thriving real estate investment and operations platform. Perfect for ambitious professionals with real estate or high-volume AP experience, this opportunity promises long-term growth as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you'll drive efficiency and accuracy across all AP activities:

  • Lead and mentor the Accounts Payable team to ensure seamless, timely invoice processing amid high transaction volumes typical of REIT operations.
  • Review invoice coding, approvals, and payments while spearheading process improvements to reduce errors, accelerate cycles, and enhance compliance.
  • Manage account reconciliations, vendor statements, and discrepancies, providing critical support for month-end closes and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prioritize vendor payments strategically, partnering with Treasury on cash flow management, forecasting, and liquidity optimization.
  • Design and implement scalable AP systems, policies, and automation tools (e.g., integrating with Yardi or NetSuite) to support organizational scaling.
  • Monitor KPIs such as days payable outstanding (DPO), error rates, and processing times, using data-driven insights to boost performance.
  • Foster cross-functional relationships with procurement, accounting, and leadership to align AP strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements in a dynamic real estate environment.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of hands-on Accounts Payable experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial capacity, ideally in real estate, REITs, or property management.
  • Demonstrated success managing high-volume AP operations with complex vendor portfolios and multi-entity structures.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting software such as Yardi Voyager, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP, with a knack for process automation.
  • Strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, remote settings.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, with experience building high-performing teams and driving cultural change.
  • Deep understanding of cash management, reconciliations, month-end processes, and financial best practices.
