Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable Leadership

  • Direct end-to-end AP operations, from invoice receipt and validation to accurate, timely payment processing in line with approval workflows and documentation standards.
  • Lead and mentor AP teams and vendor setup specialists, emphasizing robust vendor validation protocols and proactive fraud-risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review high-volume payment runs, verifying proper general ledger coding, policy adherence, and robust internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.

Financial Close & Reporting Excellence

  • Play a critical role in month-end close processes, managing AP accruals, ledger reconciliations, and delivering insightful financial metrics and reports.
  • Provide accurate AP data for weekly cash forecasting models and oversee escheatment activities to ensure compliance and liquidity optimization.

Expense & Card Program Management

  • Oversee corporate expense management and payment card programs, including travel & expense (T&E), virtual cards, and purchasing cards, with hands-on monthly reconciliations and system uploads.
  • Manage annual 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC processing utilizing advanced third-party software for accuracy and IRS compliance.

Compliance, Process Excellence & Partnerships

  • Uphold stringent adherence to corporate policies, SOX-compliant internal controls, and federal/state regulations governing AP functions.
  • Maintain comprehensive AP standard operating procedures (SOPs), conducting regular updates to reflect evolving best practices.
  • Support internal audit engagements and collaborate seamlessly with compliance, procurement, HR, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and enhance payment workflows.

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion AP transformation projects, prioritizing automation tools, digitization efforts, ERP system optimizations, and scalable process designs.

Required Qualifications
