Key Responsibilities

Your leadership will span the full spectrum of aerospace project engineering:

• Lead end-to-end development of aerospace sensing and computing systems, managing integration, verification, and release phases.
• Spearhead technical proposal activities, including system architecture design, regulatory compliance assessments, precise cost modeling, and aggressive schedule planning.
• Oversee system-level requirements management using tools like DOORS or Polarion, ensuring complete traceability, decomposition, change impact analysis, and comprehensive verification strategies.
• Author detailed requirements for specialized technologies such as high-speed digital communication interfaces (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, RS-485, CAN, Ethernet, USB).
• Design requirements for compact power systems supporting internal electronics and external payload components.
• Specify embedded computing platforms leveraging advanced CPUs, microcontrollers, and DSP architectures.
• Develop control circuitry specifications for electromechanical and thermal management subsystems, incorporating sophisticated algorithms like PID controllers and LQG estimators.
• Perform dynamic modeling of aerospace sensors and simulate critical system interactions under real-world conditions.
• Execute mathematical modeling of overall system performance, including rigorous uncertainty and sensitivity analyses.
• Foster partnerships with hardware, software, and test engineering teams to validate requirement feasibility, testability, and alignment with overarching program goals.
• Craft qualification and acceptance test requirements to meet stringent aerospace certification standards.
• Contribute to sustaining engineering efforts, enhancing reliability and performance of established product lines.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in aerospace or defense systems engineering, with a focus on avionics.
• Proven proficiency in requirements management tools and processes (e.g., DOORS, ReqIF, Jira).
• Deep technical knowledge of aerospace communication protocols and interfaces.
• Strong background in embedded systems, control theory, and mathematical modeling.
• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.
• Familiarity with DO-178C, DO-254, or similar aerospace standards is highly desirable.
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain security clearance a plus.
