The successful candidate will manage comprehensive accounting, reporting, insurance, and risk mitigation, providing proactive financial leadership. This is more than a traditional Controller role—it's a strategic partnership driving the family's financial success across diverse operations like vineyard management and construction projects.
Serve as the primary financial liaison for the CEO, CFO of Investments, and estate leadership. Maintain impeccable books and records for all entities, generating timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Proactively review these with leadership, scrutinize external accountants' work, and ensure GAAP compliance.
Monitor cash balances, orchestrate fund movements, and manage banking relationships—from account openings to permissions. Oversee accounts payable, approve invoices (including intercompany), and track transactions with precision.
Collaborate on annual financial plans, lead vineyard budgeting, cost analysis, and partner vetting. Monitor construction finances, flagging variances early. Participate in CEO-directed initiatives for holistic financial strategy.
Ensure robust, current insurance coverage for estates, entities, and activities. Partner with brokers on policies, claims, and future needs, keeping stakeholders informed.
Design efficient financial systems, internal controls, and user-friendly processes like expense reporting. Coordinate tax preparations, verifying accuracy with external experts.
To excel, candidates need a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, 8+ years in progressive roles (family office experience preferred), and CPA certification. Proficiency in financial software, advanced Excel, and GAAP is essential. Demonstrated skills in relationship-building, discretion, and process improvement are non-negotiable.
