Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive global compliance programs, offering expert guidance on regulatory matters, anti-corruption policies (such as FCPA), and international trade compliance.
• Manage privacy-related legal requirements under major frameworks like GDPR, CCPA, and other regional/global laws, while advising on cybersecurity threats and data protection strategies.
• Monitor and ensure environmental compliance across all international operations, adhering to sustainability standards, ESG reporting, and local environmental regulations.
• Design and facilitate training initiatives to promote ethical practices, raising awareness of compliance, privacy, and environmental issues among employees worldwide.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments (e.g., operations, finance, HR) and external counsel to identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on regulatory and compliance matters to support seamless business operations and expansion.
• Oversee legal aspects of export controls, sanctions (OFAC), and other international trade regulations to prevent violations.
• Ensure all legal policies align with global standards, industry best practices, and emerging trends in corporate responsibility.
• Lead proactive efforts to maintain compliance with evolving environmental laws, including climate change initiatives and corporate sustainability requirements.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, as well as update internal policies to guarantee full regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

To excel as Associate General Counsel, candidates must bring a robust blend of legal expertise and business acumen. Essential qualifications include:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar (Michigan bar preferred).
• 8+ years of progressive legal experience, with significant focus on global compliance, regulatory affairs, privacy, or environmental law in a multinational setting.
