Key Responsibilities

As a Worker’s Compensation & Civil Litigation Associate Attorney, your role will be dynamic and hands-on, ensuring you're at the forefront of impactful legal work.

Core Duties Include:

• Team Collaboration: Partner with highly experienced attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to build strong case strategies.
• Trial Preparation: Assist in compiling evidence, drafting documents, and creating compelling presentations to win at trial.
• Courtroom and Hearing Responsibilities: Manage depositions, mediations, claimant-judge conferences, and court appearances as you build courtroom confidence.
• Legal Document Creation: Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, findings of fact, opinions, and other essential legal filings with precision and efficiency.
• Caseload Management: Handle a high volume of Worker’s Compensation and civil litigation matters, juggling priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate a proven track record and the ability to excel in a demanding legal environment.

Essential Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Iowa.
• Ability to obtain licensure in Illinois, Kansas, Indiana, and Nebraska.
• 2-5+ years of legal experience, ideally in Worker’s Compensation or Civil Litigation.
• Strong working knowledge of state and federal laws, procedures, and court practices.
• Exceptional analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Superior negotiation abilities and people skills for effective client and opposing counsel interactions.
• Proven capacity to manage large caseloads, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
