As a T&E Attorney, you'll dive into high-impact work including drafting revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, advance directives, and dynasty trusts. Manage estate administration from asset inventory to final distribution, navigating Surrogate's Court proceedings and creditor claims efficiently.
Build lasting client relationships through clear communication and strategic advice on tax-efficient wealth transfer. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including CPAs and wealth managers, to craft holistic estate plans. Mentor junior staff and contribute to department initiatives.
Monitor evolving regulations like the New York Estates, Powers and Trusts Law (EPTL) and federal tax code changes. Implement cutting-edge planning techniques such as grantor retained annuity trusts (GRATs) and intentionally defective grantor trusts (IDGTs).
Candidates must possess a J.D. from an accredited law school and be admitted to the New York Bar (or admission pending). Demonstrated experience or strong interest in Trusts & Estates practice is required, with estate administration experience highly preferred. An LLM in Taxation or Estate Planning is a significant plus.
Excel with excellent judgment, sharp analytical abilities, and robust interpersonal skills. Strong management and administrative prowess is essential for handling complex caseloads and team leadership.
