This full-time position offers a competitive salary context of $140,000 annually and is perfect for seasoned cloud professionals passionate about Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 (M365) technologies. Located in the heart of Nashville, TN, United States, this role supports a dynamic team environment focused on delivering secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions aligned with business objectives.

As an Azure/M365 Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud environments. Key Responsibilities

Core Infrastructure Management

Take ownership of designing, deploying, and managing critical Azure and M365 infrastructure components. This includes provisioning virtual machines (VMs), configuring robust networking solutions like virtual networks (VNets) and VPN gateways, optimizing storage accounts (Blob, File, Queue), and administering databases such as Azure SQL and Cosmos DB. Ensure seamless operation of collaboration platforms like Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive to enhance productivity across the organization.

Hybrid Environment Integration and IAM Leadership

Bridge the gap between on-premises systems and cloud services by leading hybrid environment integrations using Azure Arc, ExpressRoute, or Site-to-Site VPNs. Spearhead identity and access management (IAM) initiatives, implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) via Azure AD Connect, enforcing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and managing privileged access with tools like Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

Infrastructure as Code and Automation

Develop and maintain IaC templates with Terraform for reproducible deployments and PowerShell scripts for day-to-day automation. Drive continuous improvement by leveraging PowerAutomate for workflow automation, Logic Apps for enterprise integration, and Python for advanced scripting tasks.

Security, Compliance, and Optimization

Implement best-in-class practices for scalability using Azure Autoscale and Kubernetes Service (AKS), bolster security with Microsoft Defender for Cloud, optimize costs via Azure Cost Management + Billing, and monitor resources with Azure Monitor and Application Insights. Manage backup strategies with Azure Backup, orchestrate disaster recovery using Azure Site Recovery, and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and internal policies.

Collaboration and Documentation

Partner closely with Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, and Application teams to facilitate smooth deployments, resolve incidents swiftly, and enforce governance through Azure Policy and Blueprints. Create comprehensive architecture diagrams using Lucidchart or Visio, detailed deployment guides, and technical documentation to support knowledge transfer and future initiatives. Stay ahead of the curve by tracking Azure/M365 updates and emerging technologies like Azure AI and Copilot integrations.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this Azure/M365 Engineer role, candidates must bring 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering. Key qualifications include deep proficiency in Microsoft Azure services (Compute, Networking, Storage, Databases), M365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, Intune), and hybrid connectivity solutions. Expertise in Terraform, PowerShell, ARM templates, and automation tools is non-negotiable, alongside strong IAM knowledge encompassing Azure AD, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and PIM.

Additional must-haves: Proven track record in cost optimization, DR/BC planning, compliance auditing, and cross-team collaboration. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or M365 Security Administrator. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality documentation are essential.
