Ensure the system runs smoothly to support thousands of users without downtime.
Manage provisioning and de-provisioning of users, courses, terms, and enrollments. Integrate with Student Information Systems (SIS) like Banner or PeopleSoft for seamless data syncs, or handle bulk imports for rosters and accounts. Create and maintain course shells, blueprints, and academic structures to standardize the learning environment.
Configure third-party LTI tools (e.g., Zoom, Turnitin), plugins, API connections, and authentication like SSO/SAML. Evaluate new integrations for security, compatibility, and pedagogical value. Lead testing and deployment of LMS updates, patches, and features to keep the platform cutting-edge.
Deliver Tier 2/3 technical support resolving advanced Canvas issues for instructors, designers, and students. Develop comprehensive documentation, quick-start guides, and best practice resources. Host workshops, office hours, and personalized coaching sessions to boost user proficiency and adoption rates.
Enforce accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1, ADA Section 508) through audits and remediation. Implement course design standards, data retention policies, and governance frameworks. Build custom Canvas reports and dashboards tracking utilization, support tickets, and health metrics to drive data-informed enhancements.
To excel, candidates need 3+ years in Canvas LMS or similar (e.g., Blackboard, Moodle) administration, deep expertise in SIS/LTI/API/SSO integrations, and proven Tier 2/3 support experience.
