As our Compensation & Benefits Specialist, your day-to-day will involve hands-on administration of comprehensive employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and wellness initiatives. You'll lead open enrollment periods, onboarding new hires into benefits systems, and coordinate seamlessly with external vendors to optimize service delivery.
A core aspect of the role is conducting thorough market benchmarking and competitive analysis to keep our benefits packages attractive and fiscally responsible. Oversee the annual benefits renewal cycle by negotiating with vendors, performing in-depth data analysis, and presenting strategic cost-impact recommendations to leadership. Manage all facets of the 401(k) plan, from compliance with ERISA regulations to maintaining precise recordkeeping and participant communications.
Support compensation cycles by validating data for merit increases, salary reviews, and bonus payouts. Contribute to compensation benchmarking efforts, maintain salary structures, and evaluate internal equity to foster fairness across the organization. Provide actionable compensation analytics and reporting to HR business partners and executives, empowering informed talent decisions. Stay ahead of federal, state, and local compliance requirements, monitoring legislative changes and integrating them into our programs. Additionally, engage in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives to uphold a secure, compliant workplace culture.
To thrive as a Compensation & Benefits Specialist at Robert Half, candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline. We seek professionals with 3-5 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits administration, ideally within a multi-state U.S. environment. Deep knowledge of HR regulations, including ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, and FLSA, is essential.
Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP, or Benefitfocus, coupled with advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analytics and reporting, is required. Demonstrated success in vendor negotiations, benefits open enrollment leadership, and 401(k) plan oversight is critical. Certifications like Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), or SHRM-CP are highly valued.
Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders are key.
