Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the designated Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer, spearheading anti-money laundering (AML) programs, internal controls, and managing all regulatory examinations.
  • Lead the preparation of annual risk assessments across key areas, including identity theft prevention and red flag regulations.
  • Administer the California Insurance Endorsee program while supporting credit union bond coverage initiatives.
  • Serve as the go-to subject matter expert for staff, disseminating critical compliance information and resolving complex inquiries.
  • Vigorously monitor regulatory changes affecting new or revised products and services, ensuring full legal compliance.
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging compliance training programs, guaranteeing consistent fulfillment of training mandates.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with external regulators and internal/external auditors to meet all compliance monitoring and examination obligations.
  • Oversee the comprehensive annual vendor due diligence program and enforce stringent record retention policies.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in compliance, preferably within banking, credit unions, or financial services.
  • Proven experience as a BSA/AML Officer or equivalent, with relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS).
  • Deep knowledge of regulations including BSA, AML, FACTA, and California-specific insurance requirements.
