Robert Half is proud to partner with a stable and growing company in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, to find an exceptional Controller. This pivotal full-time position is ideal for a seasoned finance professional ready to lead financial operations in a dynamic, project-focused environment. Located just north of Pittsburgh, this role offers the perfect blend of suburban tranquility and urban accessibility, with easy commutes to major highways and business hubs. As Controller, you will serve as the financial guardian of the organization, overseeing all accounting functions, driving compliance, and providing strategic insights that fuel business growth and operational excellence.

In this critical leadership role, you'll report directly to executive management and collaborate closely with project teams to ensure financial accuracy and profitability. With a competitive salary starting at $100,000 annually, this opportunity is tailored for candidates who thrive in fast-paced settings where project accounting and job costing are central to success. If you have extensive expertise in GAAP-compliant reporting, cash flow forecasting, and risk mitigation, this Controller position in Cranberry Township, PA, could be your next career milestone. Join Robert Half's network of top-tier finance talent and contribute to a company poised for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee comprehensive accounting operations, including payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, precise job costing, and seamless month-end/year-end closings to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Champion compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations, conducting regular audits and implementing best practices to safeguard the organization's fiscal integrity.
  • Develop and deliver advanced financial reports, interactive dashboards, and performance metrics that provide real-time insights into company health, profitability, and project outcomes.
  • Mastermind cash flow optimization strategies, forecasting funding requirements for multi-phase projects and ensuring liquidity to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Proactively identify potential financial risks, devise robust mitigation plans, and spearhead process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs across the finance department.
  • Partner with project managers, operations leaders, and C-suite executives to deliver precise project accounting, profitability analysis, and data-driven recommendations that align financial goals with business objectives.

Required Qualifications

To excel as our Controller, you bring a proven track record in senior-level accounting and finance roles. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, with a CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred. You possess 8-10 years of progressive experience, including at least 3-5 years in a Controller or similar capacity within project-oriented industries such as construction, manufacturing, engineering, or professional services.

Technical proficiency is essential: expertise in ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP), advanced Excel modeling, and financial software for job costing and reporting. You demonstrate deep knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and tax regulations, coupled with strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and forecast trends. Leadership acumen is key—experience managing accounting teams, mentoring staff, and fostering cross-functional collaboration sets you apart. Excellent communication skills enable you to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders clearly and persuasively. Finally, a strategic mindset with a focus on process automation, risk management, and driving profitability will make you an invaluable asset.
