Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team managing financial reporting, general accounting, billing, collections, and budgeting functions.
  • Orchestrate the end-to-end financial planning and budgeting process, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Design and implement efficient monthly and annual close schedules, procedures, and timelines.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive internal control frameworks for budgeting, cash management, credit, and related areas.

  • Keep pace with GAAP updates, regulatory shifts, and evolving company policies.
  • Direct the production of financial statements, activity reports, forecasts, annual budgets, and all required regulatory submissions.
  • Perform detailed financial statement analysis to uncover trends, mitigate risks, and explain variances.
  • Deliver expert counsel to C-suite executives and business units on accounting principles, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Assess past, present, and future financial performance to identify expansion opportunities and process improvements.
  • Guide senior management on financial strategies, objectives, and policies for both immediate and long-term success.
  • Vigilantly track cash flow, reserves, and essential metrics to uphold full regulatory compliance.
  • Tackle ad-hoc projects, special initiatives, and emerging priorities as they arise.

Required Qualifications

To excel as Controller, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred; advanced degrees (MBA, Master's in Accounting) advantageous.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in supervisory or leadership capacities.
  • Demonstrated success in financial services, commercial lending, or similar regulated industries.
  • Deep expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, financial controls, and regulatory reporting.
