Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting Oversight

Direct all accounting operations, including payroll processing, banking reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Prepare and present comprehensive monthly consolidated financial statements and directors’ reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for stakeholders.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

Lead the monthly closing process by reviewing and approving divisional work papers. Perform in-depth analytical reviews of financial statements, pinpointing variances and delivering clear explanations to ownership. Develop and track essential business performance metrics and KPIs to optimize operations.

Strategic and Compliance Duties

Collaborate on policy development across divisions, assist in business development and acquisitions, and evaluate accounting software for efficiency. Oversee all regulatory compliance, tax reporting (payroll, property, sales, income), and interface with insurance brokers for policy renewals. Ensure unwavering adherence to GAAP, laws, and regulations.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CPA certification strongly preferred. Bring 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, including hands-on supervisory roles in Controller or similar capacities. Proven track record in Glastonbury, CT or greater Hartford area finance is advantageous.
