Key Responsibilities

As Controller, your core duties will drive financial accuracy and organizational success:

• Lead and Mentor the Team: Direct the corporate accounting team in financial reporting, operations, general ledger functions, and account reconciliations. Provide hands-on training, cross-training, and course recommendations to build a high-performing group.
• Manage Closes and Reporting: Oversee month-end close processes, prepare management reporting packages, and ensure timely financial reporting for internal stakeholders.
• Audit and Compliance Expertise: Coordinate annual external audits, serve as the primary liaison to auditors, and handle Form 990 preparation in collaboration with corporate teams.
• Funding Source Mastery: Ensure proper reporting for federal/state contracts, corporate sponsorships, and other agreements, reviewing balance sheets and posting adjusting entries.
• Strategic Collaboration: Act as a financial partner to department heads and operations, while partnering with the technology team on system-wide projects. Support the CFO on ad-hoc initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced experience in non-profit accounting, including grant compliance and Form 990.
• Proven track record in process evaluation, month-end/annual closes, and audit management.
