Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all areas of financial reporting, developing and maintaining robust accounting principles, practices, and procedures to deliver accurate, timely financial statements.
• Manage tight deadlines across general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and support for budget and forecasting activities.
• Lead general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions, ensuring seamless operations.
• Serve as ERP (Epicor) super-user, providing training and optimization to enhance departmental workflow.
• Liaise with corporate (ACME) accounting staff to maintain consistency in financial reporting and account reconciliations.
• Assist the Vice President - Finance with daily banking requirements, positive pay transactions, special projects, and workflow improvements.
• Provide training to new and existing staff, establish annual goals, monitor progress, and handle personnel issues like conflicts, absenteeism, and performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes, while making recommendations on cost controls and maintaining precise ledger/inventory statements per corporate policy.
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure to support strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications for Controller Position
