- Lead comprehensive fund accounting, management company operations, audit coordination, and tax compliance across complex, multi-entity structures
- Deliver accurate, timely financial statements, investor reports, and regulatory filings that meet the highest industry standards
- Spearhead process optimization initiatives, including ERP/system implementations and automation to support scaling operations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners including fund administrators, Big 4 auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel
- Collaborate with investment teams to provide financial insights supporting deal analysis, portfolio monitoring, and capital calls
- Oversee month-end/quarter-end closes, cash management, and treasury functions with precision and foresight
- Develop robust internal controls, financial policies, and risk management frameworks
- Mentor and grow a high-performing accounting team while managing outsourcing relationships
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings battle-tested expertise from VC, private equity, or investment management environments. Key qualifications include:
- 8-12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with 5+ years in fund accounting or investment firms
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, ASC 946 fund accounting, and regulatory requirements for VC/private funds
- Proven success modernizing financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Investran, or similar)
- CPA certification strongly preferred; Big 4 audit or fund admin experience a plus
- Exceptional analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and deadline management
- Strong leadership presence and ability to influence without authority across all levels
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's/MBA advantageous)
