About the Role

As the Controller for Venture Capital, you will be the financial backbone of the firm, owning end-to-end fund administration and financial operations. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you'll manage complex fund accounting processes, ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 820, and support fundraising efforts. Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad scope of financial leadership:

• Lead comprehensive fund administration, including quarterly closes, year-end audits, tax compliance, and fair value assessments under ASC 820.
• Oversee financial operations for funds and the management company, delivering accurate budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Design and implement robust systems for deal tracking, legal entity management, portfolio monitoring, and performance analytics.
• Craft polished financial materials for limited partner (LP) updates, advisory board meetings, and internal leadership reviews.
• Collaborate with external partners like fund administrators, auditors, and legal counsel to maintain ironclad controls and deadlines.
• Handle treasury operations: cash positioning, capital calls, distributions, and carried interest computations.
• Prepare audit-ready financial statements, tax filings, and regulatory submissions.
• Support investor relations, fundraising, and compliance through data room management, diligence responses, and LPAC reporting.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this Venture Capital Controller position, you need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; CPA or CA certification strongly preferred.
• 7-10+ years in fund accounting, ideally within venture capital, private equity, or hedge funds.
• Hands-on experience with fund administration software (e.g., Allvue, Investran, or eFront) and Excel mastery.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, ASC 820 fair value, partnership accounting, and SEC regulations.
• Proven ability to manage audits, tax filings, and LP reporting in high-stakes environments.
