About the Role

As the Corporate Controller, you will serve as the financial guardian for several interconnected manufacturing operations, ensuring precision in reporting, unwavering compliance, and strategic insights that fuel growth. Key Responsibilities

Your leadership will span a wide array of critical functions:

• Oversee comprehensive accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and sophisticated inventory accounting tailored to manufacturing needs across multiple entities.
• Lead the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, guaranteeing full compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant standards.
• Uphold strict adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations, while fortifying internal controls to mitigate risks and prepare for seamless audits.
• Orchestrate external audits, fostering enduring relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies to ensure transparency and efficiency.
• Scrutinize intercompany transactions, implement transfer pricing policies, and manage eliminations to maintain financial integrity across the group.
• Drive the implementation, upgrade, and optimization of ERP and financial systems, working hand-in-hand with IT and operations teams for seamless integration.
• Build and refine costing models, conduct precise inventory valuations, and perform in-depth variance analyses to uncover cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with production teams to assess material usage, labor costs, overheads, and key performance indicators like yield rates and cycle times.
• Spearhead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning, translating complex data into strategic recommendations for executive decision-making.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of finance professionals and purchasing staff, promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and cross-functional teamwork.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, with 5+ years in manufacturing or multi-entity environments.
• Demonstrated mastery in cost accounting, standard costing, activity-based costing, and inventory management systems like FIFO/LIFO.
• Proven track record of leading financial software implementations, such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Epicor, or Infor, from selection to go-live.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, tax strategies, and audit processes.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of 5+ in finance and purchasing.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and ERP platforms.
• Analytical mindset for variance analysis, profitability modeling, and operational metrics.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge finance with operations and executives.
• Ability to thrive in Pittsfield, MA, with willingness for occasional travel.
