Key Responsibilities

  • Execute month-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, and generating insightful financial reports on inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Provide expert support during internal audits and external audits, ensuring all inventory and cost accounting documentation is audit-ready and compliant with standards.
  • Efficiently respond to store-level inventory inquiries and resolve help desk tickets, delivering timely solutions to support daily business operations.
  • Develop, document, and continuously refine policies and procedures for inventory tracking and cost accounting to promote best practices across the organization.
  • Create standard system reports, custom queries, and ad hoc analytical reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Maintain accuracy of store attributes, vendor rebate programs, and related data across all locations to ensure rebate tracking and financial integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement team to synchronize item masters, pricing data, and vendor information between inventory systems and Workday, eliminating discrepancies.

Required Qualifications for Cost Accountant

To excel in this Cost Accountant position, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, coupled with at least 3-5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, inventory management, or manufacturing accounting.
