Key Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you'll wear multiple hats: deployer, collaborator, and innovator. Here's what your day-to-day will look like:

• Deploy the Risk & PnL Engine: Lead the roll-out to Americas trading desks and risk teams, ensuring smooth adoption and minimal disruption.
• Serve as Houston Ambassador: Build strong relationships with local business stakeholders and tech teams, translating needs into actionable development tasks.
• Team Up Globally: Partner with the London-based dev team to prioritize and implement features tailored to Americas requirements.
• Develop Custom Solutions: Build reports, analytical tools, and functionalities leveraging the core engine and broader CTRM platform, using C++ for performance-critical components and Python for rapid prototyping.
• Strategize on Risk: Navigate complex, ambiguous scenarios in commodities trading, applying risk expertise to enhance PnL accuracy and decision-making.

Expect hands-on coding, stakeholder meetings, and occasional travel to London (2-4 trips per year) to align on project milestones.

Required Qualifications

To succeed, you'll need a blend of technical prowess, domain knowledge, and soft skills:

• Advanced proficiency in C++ (performance optimization, multi-threading) and Python (data analysis, scripting).
• Solid understanding of risk management concepts, including VaR, stress testing, and PnL attribution.
• Familiarity with CTRM systems (e.g., Allegro, Endur, or similar) and commodities markets.
• Experience deploying financial software in production environments.
• Proven ability to work in distributed teams across time zones (Houston/London).
• Strong problem-solving skills for ambiguous, business-driven challenges.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years in trading/risk systems development; willingness to travel internationally.
