Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will blend proactive security engineering with hands-on infrastructure management:

• Manage and secure Azure infrastructure, encompassing identity management, networking, virtual machines, storage solutions, and policy enforcement to ensure cloud-native security.
• Provide expert support for both on-premise and cloud setups, spanning Windows servers, Linux systems, virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V, and hybrid networking configurations.
• Proactively monitor and respond to security alerts using advanced XDR (Extended Detection and Response) and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms, minimizing dwell time for potential threats.
• Configure, manage, and harden critical network devices including firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco), switches, routers, VPNs, and other core components to fortify perimeter defenses.
• Lead vulnerability assessments, prioritize remediation activities, and spearhead initiatives to continuously improve the overall security posture of IT environments.
• Participate in incident response efforts, perform threat analysis, and conduct in-depth security investigations to swiftly neutralize risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders—dev teams, operations, and leadership—to enforce governance, ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., NIST, GDPR), and architect secure-by-design solutions.
• Create comprehensive documentation, network diagrams, and actionable recommendations, communicating complex technical concepts to both technical peers and executives.

Required Qualifications

To succeed, candidates must demonstrate:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in Azure and AWS cloud services, including identity (Entra ID), networking (VNets, VPCs), VMs, and storage security.
• Expert-level knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking protocols/devices.
• Proven track record with XDR/SIEM tools (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike) for threat detection and response.
• Experience in firewall management, VPN setups, vulnerability scanning (Nessus, Qualys), and remediation workflows.
• Strong incident response skills, including threat hunting, forensics, and root cause analysis.
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to produce diagrams (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) for architectural reviews.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; relevant certifications like CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or Azure Security Engineer Associate highly preferred.
