Key Responsibilities
As a Data Center Technician, your days will be filled with diverse, hands-on tasks critical to data center reliability and expansion. You will manage infrastructure installation requests from initiation to closure, ensuring all projects meet stringent service levels. Key duties include supporting building power downs and single-sided events, certifying network connections and peripherals before handoff to Data Center Services (DCS), and interfacing with BAU teams, business units (BUs), and Hines engineering for seamless collaboration.
Coordinate work requests with electrical contractors, provide detailed project estimates by interpreting schematics and drawings, and create/monitor tickets and TCMs through approval and closeout. Handle power remediation coordination from start to completion, assist in rack-level capacity management and MOA monitoring, and participate in all relevant BAU and project meetings. Deliver root cause analysis (RCA) reports on power issues to prevent future disruptions.
Lead infrastructure installs, including power surveys, rack and infrastructure setups, fiber/copper cabling surveys, and new data center build-outs. In equipment procurement, you will order all materials, track purchase orders (POs), and manage infrastructure stock to keep operations running smoothly.
Required Qualifications
