Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop robust Azure lakehouse platforms leveraging Azure Data Lake Gen2, Delta Lake, and PySpark for efficient data pipelines that handle massive datasets seamlessly.
• Implement a comprehensive semantic layer and metric store to standardize data definitions and translations organization-wide, ensuring analytics consistency.
• Design and maintain high-performance real-time and batch data pipelines using medallion architecture, schema evolution, and data contracts for reliability and scalability.
• Build advanced retrieval systems for LLMs with Azure OpenAI and vectorized Delta tables, enabling sophisticated chat-based analytics experiences.
• Champion data quality, lineage, and observability through tools like Great Expectations and Unity Catalog, while optimizing costs via partitioning and compaction strategies.
• Develop automated anomaly detection and alerting systems powered by Azure ML pipelines and Event Grid for proactive data monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with product and operations teams to transform complex business questions into actionable, high-impact data models and queries.
• Lead and mentor a team of skilled data and Python engineers, fostering best practices in CI/CD, code reviews, documentation, and agile methodologies.
