About the Role

The Director of Accounting will serve as the cornerstone of the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions. Key Responsibilities

As Director of Accounting, your leadership will span the full spectrum of accounting operations:

• Oversee Core Accounting Functions: Manage general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), treasury, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets with precision and foresight.
• Drive Financial Close Excellence: Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes while optimizing cash flow and treasury management.
• Ensure GAAP Compliance and Audit Success: Prepare accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements and spearhead successful internal and external audits.
• Strengthen Controls and Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate risks.
• Build and Mentor High-Performing Teams: Recruit, lead, and develop a talented accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
• Champion Technology and Innovation: Support ERP system upgrades, technical accounting research, and process automation to enhance efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree preferred) and an active CPA certification (required).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3–5 years in leadership positions.
• Public accounting background strongly preferred; experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or other regulated industries is a significant advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in US GAAP, ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite), and Microsoft Excel.
