Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve end-to-end litigation of diverse estate matters. Key responsibilities include:

• Handling will contests, challenging or defending the validity of wills based on undue influence, lack of capacity, or fraud.
• Managing contested accountings, scrutinizing executor or trustee reports for discrepancies and pursuing remedies.
• Investigating and litigating fiduciary misconduct cases, including breaches of duty, self-dealing, and mismanagement of assets.
• Initiating and defending turnover proceedings to recover estate property wrongfully withheld.
• Conducting thorough legal research, drafting persuasive pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and appellate briefs.
• Representing clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and trials (trial experience preferred).
• Providing strategic counsel to clients navigating emotionally charged estate disputes.
• Collaborating with experts like forensic accountants and appraisers to build robust case strategies.

You will litigate with minimal supervision, ensuring efficient case progression while upholding the firm's reputation for excellence.

Required Qualifications

To succeed, candidates must bring:

• A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active New York Bar admission.
• At least 3-5 years of substantive experience in estate litigation, with primary focus on NY Surrogate's Court proceedings.

• Trial experience highly preferred, though not mandatory.
