  • Monitor departmental budgets, flagging variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Generate timely financial statements—balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Oversee general ledger activities while ensuring full GAAP compliance.
  • Handle reconciliations for retail-specific accounts, including inventory and accounts payable.
  • Track essential KPIs like inventory turnover, foot traffic, and average basket size using POS systems.
  • Optimize accounting and reporting workflows through process improvements and system enhancements.

In addition, you'll manage critical areas like:

Accounts Receivable

  • Process customer invoices, reconcile payments, and resolve billing disputes.
  • Maintain records and prepare monthly AR aging reports; assist in collections.

Accounts Payable

  • Process vendor invoices, reconcile payments, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Generate AP reports and resolve discrepancies.

Sales Tax Compliance

  • File accurate monthly/quarterly returns and maintain reconciliations.
  • Stay abreast of regulations and support audits.

Required Qualifications

To excel, bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in financial analysis/accounting, ideally in retail.
