  • Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive monthly financial statements, variance reports, and performance analyses for leadership review.
  • Real Estate Specifics: Track rental income, common area maintenance (CAM) charges, property expenses, and owner distributions accurately.
  • Transaction Management: Handle intercompany transactions, journal entries, accruals, and prepaid schedules efficiently.
  • Close Processes: Lead month-end and year-end closes, coordinating seamlessly with external CPAs and auditors.
  • Compliance & Records: Ensure all records adhere to GAAP and industry accounting standards.
  • Strategic Support: Provide cash flow insights, budgeting assistance, and ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • 5+ years of progressive full-charge bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in real estate or property management.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar real estate accounting software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multi-property/entity accounting, including CAM reconciliations and escrow management.
  • Strong technical skills in financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and complex reconciliations.
