Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting Duties

  • Execute full-cycle bookkeeping across multiple client accounts, from data entry to financial reporting.
  • Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), billing, and collections efficiently.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements, credit cards, and loans to maintain accuracy.
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance, account coding, and documentation for compliance.
  • Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and error-free closes.

Tax Preparation Support

  • Assist in basic individual and small business tax preparation using Drake Tax Software.
  • Organize, review, and input client tax documents with high accuracy.
  • Collaborate with CPAs during peak tax season on extensions, estimated payments, and filings.

Client & Office Support

  • Engage directly with clients to answer bookkeeping and tax queries, fostering strong relationships.
  • Onboard new bookkeeping clients and maintain organized digital/physical files.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies, GAAP standards, and best practices in accounting.

Required Qualifications

To succeed as a Full Charge Bookkeeper/Tax specialist, candidates need 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in full-charge bookkeeping, ideally within a CPA or tax firm. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop is essential, alongside basic tax preparation skills and familiarity with Drake Tax Software (strongly preferred).
