Key Responsibilities

As Fund Controller, you'll drive critical financial functions including:

  • Leading all aspects of fund and management-company accounting, reporting, and financial controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Overseeing quarterly and annual closes, coordinating with external auditors, and managing tax filings seamlessly.
  • Managing cash flow operations, capital calls, distributions, and liquidity forecasting to support portfolio needs.
  • Building advanced financial models and analytics for fundraising efforts, portfolio monitoring, and comprehensive investor reporting.
  • Enhancing systems, processes, and internal controls as the firm grows its assets under management (AUM).
  • Acting as a key liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including administrators, auditors, and sophisticated investors.
  • Collaborating with the CFO, partners, and investment team to provide strategic financial insights.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this Fund Controller role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in private equity, hedge funds, or similar alternative investment accounting.
  • Proven expertise in fund accounting, GAAP compliance, and private equity fund structures.
  • Hands-on experience with financial closes, audits, tax returns, capital calls, and investor reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and ideally ERP systems like Investran or Allvue.
  • Demonstrated success transitioning from QuickBooks or similar to scalable enterprise solutions.
