Key Responsibilities

• Summarize medical records, radiology films, billing, and pathology results, then upload them securely into databases for easy access.
• Manage requests for diverse records (medical, employment, military, Social Security, autopsy) and draft objections to releases.
• Craft precise responses to interrogatories, discovery requests, and meet-and-confer letters to protect client interests.
• Secure authorizations from plaintiffs and distribute records to opposing counsel and medical experts efficiently.
• Liaise with physicians and hospitals to obtain declarations for deposition and trial preference motions, especially for terminally ill clients.
• Prepare deposition notices, coordinate court reporters and videographers, and draft/serve subpoenas for witnesses and documents.
• Update the Master Calendar with court appearances, discovery, and motion deadlines, proactively alerting attorneys.
• Draft critical pleadings such as ex parte applications, noticed motions (e.g., preference, consolidation), offers to compromise, and case management conference statements.
• Handle correspondence with clients, referring counsel, and opponents for attorney signatures, plus phone updates to clients and treaters.
• Lead significant trial preparation, including war room coordination and potential trial attendance for senior paralegals.

Required Qualifications

To thrive, candidates need:

• 2+ years as a paralegal in tort/personal injury, with experience handling plaintiffs, medical, and personnel records—compassion is key!
