Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management

Lead by example as you supervise and mentor technicians, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and performing quality checks. Foster a collaborative team environment focused on safety, efficiency, and high standards. Conduct training sessions to upskill your team on the latest home automation trends.

Technical Installations and Programming

Hands-on installation of low voltage systems, including audio/video setups, security cameras, alarms, and structured wiring. Program and integrate sophisticated platforms like Control4 for lighting control, Crestron for full-home automation, Lutron for shades and lighting, and Savant for seamless smart ecosystems. Run and terminate cables while adhering to NEC electrical codes and best practices.

Networking and Troubleshooting

Design and optimize Wi-Fi networks using Ubiquiti access points and mesh systems for optimal coverage in homes and offices. Diagnose and resolve complex issues in AV distribution, automation protocols, and network connectivity, minimizing downtime and maximizing client satisfaction.

Client Collaboration and Safety

Engage directly with clients to assess needs, recommend solutions, and deliver customized automation experiences. Enforce strict safety protocols for work at heights, ladder use, and confined spaces. Travel locally to job sites with reliable transportation, maintaining clear communication throughout projects.

Required Qualifications

To succeed, you need 3-5 years of experience in low voltage installations and home automation, with supervisory experience preferred. Proficiency in Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Savant, and Ubiquiti is essential, alongside knowledge of Cat6/6A cabling, PoE, and AV over IP. A valid driver's license, clean background, and physical fitness for lifting and climbing are required. Certifications like CEDIA, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific training are a plus.
