Proactively monitor network performance using advanced tools, identify bottlenecks, and implement targeted optimizations. Troubleshoot complex issues swiftly to minimize downtime and enhance reliability, ensuring uninterrupted service for all users.
Lead the implementation of robust network security protocols, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and secure VPN configurations. Stay ahead of evolving cybersecurity threats to safeguard sensitive data and maintain compliance with regulations like HIPAA or PCI-DSS.
Execute routine maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and hardware diagnostics. Provide Tier 2/3 support for network-related incidents, resolving issues efficiently and documenting resolutions for knowledge sharing.
Conduct capacity planning to forecast growth needs, recommend infrastructure upgrades, and coordinate with vendors for procurement and support. Maintain meticulous documentation of all configurations, changes, and procedures to ensure audit readiness and team continuity.
To excel in this Network Administrator role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network administration. Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are highly desirable. Deep expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), Cisco/Juniper hardware, and tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Nagios is essential.
Proficiency in firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), wireless LAN controllers, and VPN solutions is required. Strong analytical skills, the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, and excellent communication for cross-functional collaboration are key. Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNet) and SD-WAN is a plus. U.S. work authorization and ability to pass background checks are mandatory.
