About the Role

In this critical position, you'll support the daily financial operations of a global hedge/private-equity fund, handling everything from reconciliations and trade settlements to month-end investor allocations and financial statement preparation. Beyond core fund accounting, you'll maintain the books for a sales-driven portfolio company, opening doors to diverse experiences. Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will be hands-on and varied, ensuring seamless financial operations:

• Conduct daily reconciliations of position and cash balances across multiple counterparties, banks, and custodians to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor trading activity, book all listed and OTC trades promptly, confirm settlements, and instruct cash payments as needed.
• Review margin calls meticulously for accuracy and execute funding requirements efficiently.
• Maintain comprehensive books and records for each fund using Advent's Geneva software, coordinating daily with third-party administrators.
• Calculate precise investor allocations, oversee production of investor statements, and prepare monthly financials.
• Collaborate with external auditors to deliver annual audited financial statements on time.
• Handle core accounting tasks like calculating prepaids and accruals, reviewing AP/AR, recording inventory, and reconciling intercompany balances.
• Manage the balance sheet with timely reconciliations, ensuring reserve balances are adequate and compliant.
• Track banking transactions across accounts and legal entities to prevent discrepancies.
• Perform in-depth analytical reviews of monthly, quarterly, and annual results, identifying key drivers of business unit performance.
• Work directly with auditors and tax preparers, providing accurate data for audits and tax filings, including sales/use tax returns.
• Tackle special projects, such as system integrations, process automation, and conversions.

Required Qualifications

To succeed, you'll bring proven expertise and a proactive mindset:

• 5-7 years of hands-on financial operations experience, ideally in product accounting for hedge funds or private equity.
• Deep understanding of hedge fund structures, accounting principles, investor allocations, and GAAP standards.
• Direct experience with Advent’s Geneva platform for fund accounting and operations.
• Demonstrated focus on process improvements, automation of manual tasks, and system integrations/conversions.
• BA degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, data management, and data analysis skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, time management, and organizational abilities.
