Masterfully prepare and electronically file critical forms such as Form 18 (Agreement for Compensations), Form 33 (Request for Hearing), Form 33R (Response), and Form 44 (Application for Review). Your attention to detail will prevent costly delays and ensure adherence to all statutory timelines.
Coordinate the retrieval of medical records and bills, indexing them systematically. Create detailed medical chronologies and summaries that empower attorneys to build strong defense strategies. Liaise with providers to gather essential documentation swiftly.
Draft interrogatories, requests for production, and responses. Schedule depositions, mediations, and prepare exhibits for hearings before NCIC Deputy Commissioners. Your litigation support will be instrumental in achieving favorable resolutions.
Act as the go-to liaison, delivering regular status updates to clients, gathering employment and medical info, and managing expectations with insurance adjusters. Build trust through clear, professional interactions.
Prepare Compromise Settlement Agreements (clincher agreements) compliant with NCIC Rule 502. Maintain the firm's master calendar, tracking every deadline, mediation, and hearing date with unerring accuracy.
To succeed, bring 3+ years of Workers' Compensation paralegal experience, preferably in defense. Proficiency in NCIC forms and electronic filing is non-negotiable. Strong skills in case management software, medical summarization, discovery drafting, and calendar management are essential. A paralegal certificate or bachelor's degree, plus excellent communication and multitasking abilities, will set you apart. Experience in Raleigh's legal market is a plus.
