Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and oversee daily operations of the Revenue Cycle team to maximize efficiency and revenue performance.
• Direct CPT and ICD-10 coding practices while proactively preparing the team for the upcoming ICD-11 transition.
• Manage and optimize the Chargemaster for precise charge capture and compliant billing processes.
• Monitor billing accuracy through advanced quality improvement tools, swiftly implementing corrective measures to reduce denials.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for providers and staff on evolving coding, billing standards, and Critical Access Hospital-specific requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with critical regulations such as the No Surprises Act, Hospital Price Transparency Rule, and other federal/state mandates.
• Cultivate strong payer relationships to resolve reimbursement disputes and accelerate cash flow.
• Optimize end-to-end processes including charge capture, reimbursement management, patient collections, and bad debt mitigation strategies.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis to uncover trends, forecast revenue, and drive operational enhancements.
• Implement cutting-edge technology and automation solutions to streamline revenue cycle workflows and boost productivity.
• Evaluate team performance metrics, provide targeted coaching, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on payer contracting, regulatory updates, and revenue optimization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
• At least 5-7 years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management within healthcare settings, ideally Critical Access Hospitals.
• Deep expertise in CPT/ICD-10 coding, Chargemaster maintenance, and preparation for ICD-11 implementation.
• Proven track record in regulatory compliance, including No Surprises Act, Price Transparency, HIPAA, and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
• Strong analytical prowess with experience in data analytics tools for revenue cycle KPIs.
• Demonstrated success in payer negotiations and relationship management to enhance reimbursements.
• Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), revenue cycle platforms, and automation technologies.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a history of building high-performing teams through coaching and development.
• Excellent communication abilities for training, stakeholder advising, and cross-departmental collaboration.
