About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve hands-on leadership in fund accounting:

• Maintain fund and GP general ledgers, meticulously handling expenses, accruals, intercompany activity, investment entries, and LP allocations to ensure precise financial records.
• Prepare high-quality quarterly and annual financial statements that provide clear visibility into fund performance.
• Support external audits and tax filings by coordinating seamlessly with service providers and researching technical accounting matters under GAAP and industry standards.
• Monitor cash positions and liquidity across multiple funds, optimizing for operational efficiency and investor confidence.
• Calculate and process capital calls and distributions with precision, managing large-scale transactions for sophisticated LPs.
• Review and approve work from junior team members, covering capital activity, financials, and LP reporting to uphold excellence.
• Advise leadership on complex or non-routine accounting transactions, leveraging your expertise in alternative assets.
• Mentor and develop junior accountants, fostering a culture of continuous learning in this collaborative environment.
• Partner with Investor Relations to promptly and professionally respond to LP inquiries, enhancing client relationships.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred.
• At least 5-7 years of progressive fund accounting experience, ideally in private investment firms with alternative assets exposure.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting principles, and alternative strategies like litigation finance, specialty agriculture, and real assets.
• Proven track record supporting audits, tax filings, and coordinating with external providers.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with fund administration software (e.g., Investran, Advent, or Yardi) is a plus.
• Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex transactions.
