About the Role

As the primary backend owner, you'll manage multiple subdomains, internal admin tools, webviews for iOS/Android apps, and high-traffic API endpoints that integrate seamlessly with their legacy .NET/C# API server. This role demands a blend of strategic architecture, tactical development, performance expertise, refactoring mastery, and strong team collaboration. Key Responsibilities

1. Core Laravel Architecture & Development

• Maintain and evolve a comprehensive Laravel 12 ecosystem spanning multiple subdomains and route domains
• Build robust APIs consumed by iOS, Android, watchOS apps, and internal admin dashboards
• Implement clean architecture patterns using DTOs, API Resources, traits, enums, queued jobs, and advanced caching
• Deliver production-ready code following SOLID principles, DRY methodology, PSR standards, Pint formatting, and comprehensive feature testing

2. Multi-Subdomain Infrastructure Management

• Own dynamic routing systems that intelligently load route files based on subdomain logic
• Manage sophisticated InertiaJS + Vue3 integrations for admin tools and cross-platform webviews
• Ensure pixel-perfect, seamless functionality across Android/iOS webviews and native browser environments

3. Performance, Scaling & Reliability Engineering

• Optimize MSSQL database queries, Eloquent relationships, indexing strategies, and multi-layer caching
• Architect high-volume background processing for Stripe renewals, scheduled tasks, bulk operations, and email campaigns
• Maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2 instances, Elastic Load Balancers, Forge deployments, and Envoyer zero-downtime updates

4. Enterprise Integrations & Data Pipelines

• Maintain critical bridges to legacy .NET/C# API systems
• Integrate with key third-party platforms like Stripe, Campaign Monitor/EventBridge, Golf Genius, and specialized sports data providers
• Build sophisticated DTO pipelines merging external datasets with proprietary Course and Player models

5. Code Quality & Developer Experience Leadership

• Drive coding standards evolution, comprehensive documentation, test suite expansion, and CI/CD pipeline optimization
• Enhance internal developer tools for logging, admin dashboards, data exports, audit trails, and API monitoring
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance across the engineering organization

6. Cross-Functional Technical Leadership

• Partner with mobile teams to deliver lightning-fast, reliable API endpoints
• Collaborate with product and design stakeholders on feature specifications and UX-driven technical decisions
• Contribute to technical roadmap planning, architecture reviews, and pragmatic tradeoff analysis

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate:

• 5+ years professional Laravel/PHP engineering experience, with Laravel 10+ mastery
• Proven expertise in high-traffic API development and microservices architecture
• Advanced MSSQL skills including query optimization, indexing, and large dataset management
• Hands-on experience with Laravel queues, jobs, caching (Redis/Memcached), and background processing
• Familiarity with InertiaJS/Vue3, multi-subdomain routing, and webview optimization
• Experience integrating complex third-party APIs and legacy systems (.NET preferred)
• Strong testing discipline (PHPUnit, feature tests, Dusk) and TDD/BDD practices
• Performance tuning expertise across database, application, and infrastructure layers
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative team player mindset
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
