Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and Operations teams, including each vertical, to streamline cross-functional workflows and optimize tax processes.
  • Review and prepare federal and state income tax returns, K-1s, extensions, quarterly payments, and taxable income estimates with meticulous accuracy.
  • Support expanding verticals through nexus assessments, state/local registrations (DOR, sales/use, withholding/payroll, and city/local taxes), and develop a comprehensive compliance calendar.
  • Coordinate reporting and compliance efforts across business units to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Lead targeted multi-state sales & use tax research, maintain a taxability matrix, and coordinate exemption certificates with Finance.
  • Manage tax registrations, state filings, and clearances for multiple entities.
  • Handle federal and state tax notices, from research and response drafting to full resolution.
  • Draft and review tax workpapers supporting filings and audits.
  • Contribute to consulting projects on state tax research, property tax assessments, and strategic tax planning.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external advisors, and investors on tax inquiries.
  • Develop processes to boost compliance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor legislative changes and regulatory updates for proactive compliance.
  • Support M&A diligence and transaction tax matters.
  • Oversee administrative tax function tasks for operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this Senior Tax Accountant role, you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced tax certification preferred.
