Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will be varied and rewarding, focusing on core tax functions with a strategic twist:

  • Collaborate across Finance, Legal, Operations, and verticals to optimize cross-functional tax workflows and ensure seamless reporting.
  • Thoroughly review federal and state income tax returns, K-1s, extensions, quarterly estimated payments, and taxable income projections.
  • Support expanding verticals through nexus assessments, state/local registrations (DOR, sales/use, withholding/payroll, and city taxes), and develop a robust compliance calendar.
  • Conduct targeted multi-state sales & use tax research to determine taxability and rates, maintain an up-to-date taxability matrix, and coordinate exemption certificate management with Finance.
  • Manage tax registrations, state filings, and clearances for various entities, ensuring full compliance.
  • Respond to federal and state tax notices with in-depth research, draft responses, and achieve timely resolutions.
  • Prepare and review detailed tax workpapers and documentation to support filings, audits, and internal processes.
  • Contribute to consulting projects, including state tax research, property tax assessments, and strategic tax planning.
  • Engage with internal teams, external advisors, and investors to address complex tax inquiries.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes to proactively adapt compliance strategies.
  • Assist in due diligence for acquisitions, transaction tax matters, and process enhancements for greater efficiency.
