Key Responsibilities

Valuation Leadership

  • Lead quarterly fair value analyses for portfolio companies, employing standard VC valuation approaches such as market multiples, discounted cash flow (DCF), and comparable transactions. Meticulously document key assumptions, market factors, and sensitivity analyses to support robust decision-making.
  • Present valuation conclusions and methodologies with clarity and confidence to auditors, internal investment committees, and firm leadership, ensuring alignment on portfolio health and performance.

Financial Operations and Reporting

  • Support quarterly and annual close activities, including thorough review and preparation of financial statements, partner capital account reporting, and performance metrics tailored for venture capital structures.
  • Oversee all capital activity, including capital calls, distributions, cash forecasting, and reconciliations, ensuring 100% accuracy and timely execution.

Audit and Compliance Support

  • Assist with external audits by preparing comprehensive support schedules, responding promptly to auditor requests, and managing all follow-ups to facilitate smooth and successful audit outcomes.
  • Provide expert guidance and development support to fund accounting staff, fostering team growth while addressing limited partner (LP) inquiries with precision and professionalism.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this Senior Valuation Analyst role, candidates should bring a proven track record in venture capital or private equity environments. Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in valuation analysis, ideally within VC, PE, or investment banking.
  • Deep proficiency in VC-standard valuation methodologies, financial modeling (Excel advanced, including VBA), and tools like Carta or Affinity for portfolio management.
