Key Responsibilities

Database Installation & Configuration

Take ownership of installing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server instances across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. From initial setup to ongoing administration, ensure all database environments meet enterprise standards for reliability and scalability.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

Leverage advanced monitoring tools including SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), and Query Store to proactively identify performance issues. Optimize slow-running queries, tune indexes, implement table partitioning, and apply query hints to achieve sub-second response times for critical business applications.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

Design and implement robust high-availability solutions using AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances, database mirroring, and log shipping. Conduct regular disaster recovery testing, develop comprehensive recovery time objectives (RTO/RPO), and maintain business continuity plans that minimize downtime.

Security & Compliance Management

Implement defense-in-depth security strategies including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), row-level security, dynamic data masking, and comprehensive auditing. Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls while ensuring compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and industry-specific regulations.

Developer Support & Data Operations
