Key Responsibilities

As Sr. Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in external reporting, accounting close processes, and cross-functional collaboration. This position demands precision in financial statement preparation and a proactive approach to process improvements.

External and Internal Reporting

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements with detailed analysis
• Lead preparation of quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K filings, including complex footnote disclosures and data aggregation
• Develop financial statements for newly-formed joint ventures and reporting for managed long-term lease portfolios
• Coordinate with tax, treasury, FP&A, investor relations, legal, and business segments to gather materials
• Create schedules for earnings releases, earnings calls, and quarterly board presentations

International Segment Accounting Close

• Build relationships with foreign accounting teams as a key liaison
• Monitor Rail International holding entities and record journal entries in compliance with policies
• Prepare comprehensive monthly/quarterly reporting packages with variance analysis, KPIs, and cash flow statements
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and segment schedules for disclosures
• Handle financial statements for subsidiaries, pension plans, governmental surveys, and regulatory filings

Process Improvement and Compliance

• Work with external auditors to provide timely support and resolve queries
• Enhance reporting processes in external systems and update disclosure documentation
• Research and implement new accounting standards with technical accounting teams

Required Qualifications
