  • Prepare detailed monthly financial packages for property stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and variances.
  • Thoroughly review monthly close processes submitted by property management teams for accuracy.
  • Act as the go-to accounting liaison for property managers, resolving issues efficiently.
  • Verify invoice coding in Accounts Payable to prevent errors and ensure proper expense allocation.
  • Deliver quarterly and annual financial reports on time, adhering to all regulatory deadlines.
  • Provide proactive communication and ad hoc reports to stakeholders upon request.
  • Compile audit schedules and manage all interactions with external auditors for smooth year-end processes.
  • Handle posting of monthly and annual journal entries while overseeing general ledger reconciliations for your properties.
  • Support development projects by assisting with tasks for properties under construction or nearing completion.

Additionally, you'll lead critical processes like converting construction loans to permanent financing, tracking capital contributions, calculating annual surplus cash for stabilized properties, training staff accountants, and contributing to treasury and corporate accounting functions. This multifaceted role ensures variety and impact in your daily work.

Required Qualifications

To succeed, you'll bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
  • At least 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in property management or real estate.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Yardi, or similar property accounting software.
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing financials and identifying discrepancies.
