Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve a wide array of essential tasks critical to the agency's financial health:

  • Execute daily operations like receiving checks, posting receipts, preparing deposits, reviewing payables, tenant billing adjustments, prepayment applications, and gross sales updates.
  • Lead the monthly accounting close, recording operational activities, rental/ancillary income, and reconciling cash receipts.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations, security deposit ledgers, property tax accruals, debt service (principal, interest, escrow), and prepaid amortizations.
  • Maintain fixed assets, calculate depreciation/amortization, and ensure proper capitalization with the Controller.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll, accrue liabilities (utilities, management fees, G&A), and analyze bad debt/prepaid rent.
  • Perform monthly budget variance analysis, forecasting income/expenses/cash flow, and prepare investor/lender financial statements.
  • Support quarterly consolidations, annual budgeting, and audits while drafting policies and procedures.
  • Handle ad hoc projects and ensure all records align with GAAP and agency standards.

Required Qualifications

To excel as our Sr. Accountant, you need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years in accounting, ideally in real estate or property management.
