Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day will involve a dynamic mix of analytical and posting tasks:
- Monthly analysis and reconciliation of course categories, scrutinizing revenue and expense postings from current and prior periods to ensure coding accuracy, and making necessary GL adjustments or accruals.
- Creating comprehensive monthly reports that compare budgeted versus actual revenues, expenses, and staff hours, highlighting variances and distributing to department managers upon request.
- Reviewing, coding, and posting all expenses to the General Ledger before completing bank reconciliations.
- Computing and posting fixed asset depreciation entries each month.
- Reconciling monthly benefit statements against payroll records for accuracy.
- Performing detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to maintain financial integrity.
- Recording adjustments for pensions, defined contributions, and investments directly to the GL.
- Managing credit card reconciliations by reviewing statements, posting to correct GL accounts, and archiving records monthly.
- Calculating and accruing month-end payroll, plus reconciling quarterly payroll tax reports.
These responsibilities ensure the organization's finances are audit-ready and support strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications
To succeed, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
