Key Responsibilities

Champion insourcing initiatives for greater freight control, while establishing governance frameworks with robust KPIs, financial transparency, and accountability measures. Deliver executive-level insights through data analytics to inform critical operational and capital decisions.

Transportation & Fleet Management

Oversee all transportation modes including ocean imports, drayage, LTL, truckload, parcel, and private fleet. Optimize fleet utilization, routing efficiency, mode selection, last-mile performance, and driver productivity via advanced telematics, routing software, and safety technologies. Spearhead TMS selection and implementation for superior visibility, cost control, and execution. Manage carrier relationships, contract negotiations, routing guides, and performance metrics while ensuring strict compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and safety regulations.

Domestic & International Freight Operations

Partner cross-functionally with purchasing, sales, and product teams to craft best-in-class inbound freight strategies. Direct international container flows, port operations, drayage, and cross-dock efficiency. Manage domestic movements between ports, distribution centers, and branches, relentlessly pursuing improvements in lead times, freight costs, and vendor compliance.

Network & Distribution Optimization

Work alongside distribution and branch leaders to optimize service levels, costs, and inventory positioning. Redesign network flows to accommodate market expansion, acquisitions, and evolving customer delivery demands. Enhance last-mile delivery and customer experience through integrated transportation-warehouse operations.

Systems, Process, & Leadership Excellence

Drive ERP, TMS, and telematics platform integrations for end-to-end visibility, complemented by custom dashboards tracking freight spend, productivity, and KPIs. Lead continuous improvement projects for scalability. Build and mentor a high-performing national logistics team, cultivating a culture of accountability, data-driven decisions, and relentless improvement during growth phases.
